EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Employee Assistance Program provides professional counseling, referral and follow-up to employees and their families from participating industries and organizations. Services are provided to individuals who may be experiencing personal difficulties such as family, martial, alcohol, drug, parent-child, stress, depression and financial problems.
Organizations sponsoring formalized programs for their employees lessen both human and economic loss in the workplace. This is accomplished by reducing absenteeism, retaining experienced employees, and facilitating the handling of problem employees. Employees and family members benefit by having a program available when a need arises.
Programs are implemented jointly with the cooperation of both labor and management. Policy and procedure development, labor and management training, in plant orientation and program evaluation are provided in a formalized program.
